I used to just pound out the core, then go in and kill the stragglers, and reap the loot. I have to go through the maze of traps and jump scare spawns behind me getting 2 shot killed by shotgun commanders, respawn, repeat. Tedious, because the POIs are now indestructible. But now, It's tedious and doesn't give the rewards it used to. I'd rather be attacking pois, and looting stuff. Have not personally seen the silver that he has said he mined though. I only know they exist because one of my other faction mates has found them and told me he has mined them. I personally have not seen a single silver deposit. But it is going to take just as long to farm and trade for the materials I need for them as it has taken to get what I have so far. The only thing it needs now is dense asteroid drills. My ship now has one large T3 capacitor, one reactor generator, and 6 Dense ice asteroid lasers. I've found some, but not enough to build the asteroid mining lasers. Hundred + hours looking for stuff that you personally gave me information to help me find. But I have to point out, that I have spent weeks now trying to find all the parts I need to build the new stuff. The parts are also lootable from several POIs and purchasable from a variety of regular traders. Do NOT start with the largest ones and work your way down. The Small and Medium-sized capacitors and chargers do not require any exotic components and using them will get you up to a 60k shield which is 3x larger than your shields in 1.6, and that's including chargers, and excluding a Bastion shield which would be around 120k. That's the endgame, and is entirely optional. Originally posted by Vermillion:"Half the game" doesn't include the Largest shield capacitors and chargers. The server I am on I am seeing players getting frustrated and just leaving. The new shield system already forces players make massive room on ships to have something thats not popped in 1 shot now the resource cost and a quest (albeit just a fetch quest) on top of that is something that I am hearing again and again is just to much. While i dont particularly agree with the shield changes as they are forcing massive ships to fight NPC's I took it in stride, thinking that we could at least just build the stuff, being locked into playing trader bob for 3-4 pieces of something that you need hundreds of is mindnumbing tediousness and a huge annoyance. So as i said, forcing us to play as trader bob and locking us out of half the game. The fact remains that ultra rare loot was greatly improved with the removal of "junk" items like emergency rations and ammo. Only the T3 need an item that you trade for, not get in ultra rare containers. You unlock shield upgrades in the tech tree and can craft all but the highest tier with regular components. Adding admin cores to POI so you cant even damage them is also extremely frustrating This interation of the game is more frustation and annoyance than anything else. Originally posted by Vyanie:Loot was not improved enough then, with over 600 of the ultra containers looted and a stupid amount of others not a single thing to upgrade my shields. Any further quests you do with them will grant you rep with their faction, some credits and possibly some of their specific items. Afterwards, that specific quest giver will always be available for trade.Įach Quest giver can give you three quests, but you only have to finish one to open up trade. You only have to do the quest ONCE for EACH poi quest giver. But it is far better to do the quests, put a waypoint on the POI and come back after they have replenished their stock. These two items can probably be looted from Colonist or Polaris POIs if you are the type to hate these two factions. Sometimes, they will ask for items that are harder to get. It might be to gather 600 Sathium, or a Survey Report from hacking a satellite, or even a bit of Graphite. But the quests can be randomly chosen from a predefined list. Same thing, find the quest giver, do his quest and open up trade to purchase the Heat Exchangers.Īll quest givers will give you a good value for finishing the quest, Usually paying double or more the value of the item you are giving them. Heat exchangers are purchased from Space POI's - The only one I have found is a colonist POI with a strange name, but there may be others. complete their quest and they will open up trade with you. Think Tech and find pois with names based around tech. Superconductors can only be purchased from POI vendors on Moon POIs.
